BEACON, N.Y. — Frank Davis, of Beacon, died Nov. 13. He was 75.
He was born May 23, 1941, in Georgetown, S.C. to the late Addison and Bertha Davis.
Davis was employed with IBM and retired after 20 years of service. He loved sports and was a loyal fan of New York teams. He loved people and would strike up a conversation with anyone he came in contact with. You always could get a laugh as he always had a joke to share. His positive attitude and faith in God allowed him to gracefully endure his battle with cancer. He fought a good fight. He could not have done it so long without the help of his cousin Louis Simmons.
He is survived by his daughters, Bridget Davis, Regina Sweat, Leana Smith; sisters, Ida Anderson and Bertha Morgan; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Frank Jr; sister, Jessie Vereen Cruz; and brothers, Harold (LC) Davis and Edward Davis.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon with a funeral service beginning at noon Saturday at Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Mattie Cooper Square, Beacon. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc. 39 S. Hamilton St. Poughkeepsie.
